Scotland’s Social Enterprise Policy & Practice Conference will take place on Wednesday 4th September at the Radisson Blu, Glasgow.
Every two years the event features the launch of Scotland’s Social Enterprise Census, which has been a policy influencing resource since its launch in 2015. We are delighted to confirm Aileen Campbell, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government will announce the findings from this third bi-annual survey at the conference. Early-bird rates are available until 5th July from £125+VAT per person. Book your tickets.
The 2017 survey showed some amazing results with an increase from the 2015 survey in the number of social enterprises operating (5,600); the number of social enterprises led by women (65%), the economic contribution to the Country’s GVA (Gross Value Added) (£2bn), the total income (£3.8bn), the number of social enterprises generating at least half their income from trading (61%) and the number of social enterprises located in rural Scotland (34%).
The 2019 Census will continue to track social enterprise development, its impact on the national economy and identifying the support needs of the sector, as well as delve deeper into other areas.
The survey will close on 31st May 2019. It takes just 15 minutes to complete the survey and inform the latest facts, figures, needs and prospects about social enterprise in Scotland – please take the time to complete and share widely across all your networks. This is your opportunity to influence the government’s thinking and the support available for the sector.
