Almond Valley Heritage Trust is a top 10 visitor attraction in Scotland, welcoming 120,000 visitors a year. An effective community enterprise, the Trust delivers education programmes and operates an accredited museum with a collection that is recognised as being of national importance to Scotland. The Trust work in partnership with West Lothian Council to deliver a museum service for the county and continuously generate income to invest and develop the services and facilities.
The Trust recently had an ambitious expansion programme, which would significantly enhance services but they lacked the expertise to make a sound commercial case to approach an appropriate funding partner.
After seeking financial and commercial expertise from CEIS, an expert business adviser was appointed, who completed the required business plan and produced a supporting five year financial projection for both income & expenditure and cash requirements.
This resulted in the funding application being approved and the expansion of new and enhanced services. The Trust has experienced growth in income and employment and expects to see an increase in annual footfall, maintaining their rank as a top 10 visitor attraction in Scotland.
