CEO to cycle 100 miles round trip in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care

Posted in: News.

Ian Mitchell, CEO, CEIS Group will cycle from home to work and back in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. Ian, who lives in Edinburgh and works from the Govan HQ in Glasgow, is an avid cyclist and bikes to work most days, however, this normally includes hopping on the Edinburgh to Glasgow train.

To support staff fundraising efforts Ian will cycle the 100 miles round trip, meaning a 5.30 am set off for work with a 4 hour plus journey ahead. Commenting on the ride, Ian said “Although a keen cyclist, this is going to be a challenge for me heading out and returning in the dark and negotiating the commuter traffic. I hope there is some baking left when I reach the office!”

CEIS Group is hosting two staff coffee mornings to raise funds. One at the Govan HQ on Thursday 26th September, where staff will eagerly await Ian’s arrival with a fanfare and baked goodies; and another at the Irvine branch on Friday 4th October.

As well as donating money in aid of Ian’s cycling challenge, staff will also be hosting a ‘Bake Off v Fake Off’ competition on the day, ‘Dunk the biscuit’ (pin the tail on the donkey-esque) and the winner of the ‘Great Berry Guess’ will be announced, where the staff member who has guessed the closest number of berries in the pie will win a prize donated by staff.

Photos from the events will be posted on social media and our website, along with our final donation amount. Good luck Ian!!!

P.S. Ian is happy to have any companions on the ride. Get in touch if interested, Ian.Mitchell@ceis.org.uk
