Social Enterprise Policy & Practice Conference

‘Putting Social Impact at the Heart of Scotland’s Recovery’

The theme of this year’s conference, in partnership with the Scottish Government is ‘Putting Social Impact at the Heart of Scotland’s Recovery‘ and it will be held online over two days, Wednesday 1 & Thursday 2 September, on the virtual event platform, Hopin.

Save the date to hear policy updates, to set the vision for the sector, be inspired by some of the incredible work of our colleagues in the sector over the past year and connect with colleagues old and new.

Day one will focus on the Scottish Government’s vision and the role of social enterprise in community led recovery with Shona Robison, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Housing and Local Government confirmed as our opening keynote speaker.

This will be followed by a keynote by Louisa MacDonnel, CEO, DTAS and Barbara Elborn, Secretary/Treasurer, Newcastleton Community Trust inspiring us to ‘Make a difference to the local economy’ through reshaping and empowering local economies.

The focus for day two will be ‘Future recovery’ concentrating on climate, green recovery, the balancing of inequalities; and the future of work. We will hear from Lorna Slater MSP, Co-Leader, Scottish Green Party; Peter Kelly, Director, The Poverty Alliance and Manda Brookman, Founder, Permanently Brilliant.

Engaging and inspiring practitioners
Both days will offer practical breakout sessions to dive deeper into our keynote topics and this year we’re featuring more Rising Stars than ever before to bring the practitioner to the fore and explore what colleagues nationwide have been doing to address the challenges of COVID, lead community recovery and grow their social impact.

Bookings will be open soon!!
