People Make Glasgow Enterprising

Posted in: News.

We are pleased to have been provided with access and permission to use the People Make Glasgow Enterprising brand.

On 1st May all members of Glasgow Social Enterprise Network (GSEN) received access to the brand, which was formally launched at the GSEN trade show on 10th December 2014 by Scott Taylor, CEO for Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB).

The ‘People Make Glasgow’ brand was first introduced as Glasgow’s new brand on Friday 28th June 2013 by Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow City Council and Chair of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB). This followed a two month consultation encouraging residents, visitors and fans of the city to have their say about what makes Glasgow great. More than 1,500 people in 42 countries shared their views.

Councillor Matheson said of the brand “This is a brand for everyone, which the people of Glasgow have helped to shape and will continue to do so. Throughout the lifespan of the brand the people of Glasgow will be encouraged to add to it and enhance it with their own stories and images, helping to paint a genuine picture of the city and all it has to offer”.

Elizabeth McKenna, Network Manager, GSEN added “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with GCMB to use the brand to position and promote Glasgow social enterprises across a variety of local, national and international markets.  People Make Glasgow is now a renowned brand which communicates Glasgow’s reputation as a world-class city. GSEN members have exclusive access to this brand, which will enable them to add their message of what social enterprises offer to a city as diverse as Glasgow.  We would encourage you to look out for this logo; it could help you identify social enterprises in the city”.

Jo Seagrave, Events & Marketing Manager, CEIS commented “From my perspective having use of the People Make Glasgow Enterprising brand is a great marketing tool. Business can be tough and having a brand that people recognise and associate with can be key to clinching the deal when there’s not much in it. I would definitely recommend more companies get on board and adopt the brand”.
