Support for Third Sector Procurement

Posted in: News.

In a month where there has been much discussion about tax avoidance by big companies, Christian Aid has started a campaign targeting local authorities to adopt policies that stop them from procuring or commissioning from companies that have aggressive tax avoidance measures in place – the campaign is actively trying to get public bodies to stop buying from Serco et al.

As CEIS works with Ready for Business partners to support public bodies in Scotland to open markets to third sector organisations, any initiative that brings a focus on social value and fairness is welcome. The campaign website encourages citizens to act and challenges local authorities  to use their procurement budgets to achieve tax justice.
